The largest suite in the house today acknowledges Sir Christopher Coote, 15th Baronet and the senior member of the Coote family, who had taken a close personal interest in the restoration of the house built for his great-great-great grandparents.
Today, the suite enjoys a large sitting room, curved windows looking out to beautiful views overlooking the fountain. The former dressing rooms have become a bedroom and bathroom and the decorative theme in each of the rooms has been determined by a series of eighteenth-century Chinese wallpaper panels, formerly in the collection of the Prince of Hanover at Schloss Marienburg. Many of the furnishings are complementary in the style of Chinese Chippendale.
This suite acknowledges the late Sir Christoper Coote, 15th Baronet, the senior member and archivist of the Coote family. This suite with its large bowed sitting room corresponding to the south portico was previously the largest bedroom in the house, and having been given two connecting dressing rooms was in effect the grand suite. The original provision of two dressing rooms here was a common arrangement for married couples in larger houses. The elaborate mahogany doors are of themselves rather interesting, having originated from the late - Georgian house and convincingly associated with the involvement of James Wyatt.
We are pleased to be able to offer our guests complimentary laundry, limited to five items per room per day. (Further laundry and dry cleaning available at an additional cost).
