The Conservatory

Hidden behind a bookcase in a corner of the Library, the entrance to the Conservatory has a touch of theatre about it. Designed by Richard Turner, the celebrated creator of Kew Garden's Palm House, it was added in 1848 as an orangery by Sir Charles Coote, indulging the Victorian appetite for exotic fruit and flowers in cooler climes.

Turner Conservatory

From April to October, lunch is served in the Turner Conservatory for hotel residents.  Recently refurbished by Ballyfin’s interior designer Colin Orchard, this glasshouse dining room is a glorious, light-filled place to linger, offering all the pleasure of outdoor dining with none of the weather-related drama.
