Frequently asked questions

Here is a selection of frequently asked questions about Ballyfin for your convenience.

Our bedroom check-in time is 3pm. We will do our utmost to have your room ready earlier, however if we have a full house the evening before this may not be possible. You are welcome to arrive from 12 noon and enjoy all Ballyfin has to offer. Unfortunately, in high demand periods, we will not be in a position to facilitate an early check in to your room. If you are arriving on an early morning flight and need access to your room before 3pm, we advise reserving the room the night before.

Check-out time is at 12 noon. It may be possible to have a later check-out, depending on availability. Late check-out fees may apply

All reservations are guaranteed by credit card. Pre-authorisations are taken in advance and Ballyfin is GDPR compliant. 

Our cancellation policy is 14 days prior to arrival, at which point the booking deposit will be refunded. Cancellations received within 13 days of arrival will be charged 100% of the booking arrangement. Bookings received within 14 days of arrival date will be on a no cancellation policy and above cancellation policy applies.

Please note a service charge of 7.5% will apply to all accommodation, food & beverage, activities & spa. This will be added to your final bill on departure

we welcome children over the age of 9 years for individual reservations. Children of all ages are welcome when the house is reserved exclusively by one group.

We welcome guide dogs only at Ballyfin Demesne.

Ballyfin Demesne is delighted to welcome non-resident guests to enjoy dinner in our Michelin starred State Dining Room. The culinary evening commences at 18.00, where you will be greeted by one of our butlers, who will show you to pre-dinner drinks served in one of our stunning public rooms. Following this, you will be seated at your table in the State Dining Room at 18:30 or 18:45 dependent on your reservation time.

The dress code for dinner is Smart Casual.

Unfortunately, the Ballyfin Demesne grounds are not open to visitors that are not staying at the hotel.

Yes, we have electric car charging points for our guests to use during their stay.

We are pleased to be able to offer our guests complimentary laundry, limited to five items per room per day. (Further laundry and dry cleaning available at an additional cost).
