Lady Mornington's son, William Wellesley inherited Ballyfin from his cousin William Pole in 1781 at the age of 18.
The soft pink bedrooms walls are enhanced by the vibrant Indian 'Tree of Life' fabric that drapes the windows, framing attractive views across the lawns and the tree-lined lake. Among the paintings and engravings is a mid-seventeenth century Flemish picture of the Madonna and Child in a lanscape witj adoring putti.

The room acknowledges the matriarch of the extraordinary Wellesley family who became closely connected with Ballyfin when the Pole estate was inherited by the youund William Wellesley in 1781. In 1759, at the age of sixteen. Anne, daughter of Arthur Hill, later Viscount Dungannon, married the youthful Viscount Mornington, a musical prodigy and later professor of music at Trinity College.
