Donald Teskey

Born in Co. Limerick, Donald Teskey graduated from Limerick College of Art and Design with a Diploma in Fine Art in 1978. Regarded as one of the most significant painters in Ireland today, his paintings combine large abstract passages and surfaces to articulate the elemental force of nature in his seascapes and the man-made structures in his urban landscape.

These residencies will offer guests a rare opportunity to witness the creative process in real time, within the serene and inspiring setting of our estate. During their stays, visiting artists will paint, sketch, or explore new works, drawing inspiration from the landscapes, architecture, and atmosphere of Ballyfin. Many will display selected pieces around the house, and each artist has generously agreed to engage with guests in informal settings.
