Accommodation  –  Rooms & suites  –  The Butler Room
Originally the bedchamber of Lady Caroline Coote’s private suite, this handsome room overlooking the lake, with its dramatic red wallpaper has now been restored to its original proportions.
Many of the furnishings are Georgian. The space between the windows, for example, is filled by a fine George II secretaire in pale mahogany with a ‘swan neck’ pediment. On each side of the bed are striking mezzotints by Thomas Frye, a leading Irish-born artist of remarkable originality.
